Outreach Action Network

Doing good... together

Year in review

2025: Annual Summary

OVERVIEW: 2025 was the fourth full calendar year for Outreach Action Network, Inc. We continue to enjoy a real chance to make differences in others’ lives. Looking through these notes, keep in mind how we continue to do outreach, to be committed to action, and to network.

HAITI: We are truly an example of how focused charity can work wonders. The ongoing generosity of our donors allowed us to continue our support to build a parish school of “blocks, not sticks.” (Compare the current school on page 3 with the work-in-progress on pages 4 and 5.) The school project continues to be a source of hope for the people there. Because of your donations, work on the construction of a truly permanent planned school in a jungle continues. (See page 6.) Please give what you can. Your financial support of efforts there are making a tremendous difference in the lives of many. We believe that quality education will provide an important tool that will upgrade the lives of the next generations, which will ultimately cause the community there to grow and prosper. (You can see a few members of our Haitian family on pages 7 and 8.) It is important that we continue to support these people as their work is far from completed.

LOCAL NETWORKING: Networking is another way for us to engage “the spirit of helping others” in our daily lives. We are learning what we can about others’ efforts to assist refugees who are relocating to the Calumet Region. We support the “Welcome Home” project, which is based in Hammond. They are focused on helping “new neighbors” adjust to life in the U.S. Our aim is not to replicate services, but we would like to explore ways in which we can support work that is being spearheaded by others like us. This provides us with other wonderful opportunities that align with our objectives. We retain the willingness to assist those who need our support whether they live far away or close by.

FINANCES: FINANCES: Thanks to your generosity, we continued to receive donations throughout the year. We were able to wire your donations to the parish school in Haiti twice. These contributions are going a long way toward helping them reach their goals. This project is a true light to those who are living under extremely difficult conditions. For them, it represents hope.

Our expenses continue to consist solely of ongoing bank fees. Based on 2025 figures, 99.4% of all donated dollars found their way to the people and projects that are important to you. We are blessed.

GOING FORWARD: GOING FORWARD: We are excited to continue our support of notable, caring projects. If anyone is aware of any groups or individuals who are in need anywhere, we are open to working with them see how we can make a positive impact on everyday people. We will be known by what we do and not just by what we say. We are constantly looking for opportunities for “Doing Good...Together.”

2024: Annual Summary

OVERVIEW: 2024 was the third full calendar year for Outreach Action Network, Inc. Those associated with us continue to enjoy a real chance to make differences in others’ lives. Looking through these notes, keep in mind how we continue to do outreach, to be committed to action, and to network.

HAITI: The ongoing generosity of our donors allowed us to continue our support to build a parish school of “blocks, not sticks.”. The school project is a bright spot of hope for the people there. Because of your donations, work on the construction of a truly permanent planned school in a jungle continues. Please give what you can. Your financial support of efforts there are making a tremendous difference in the lives of many. We believe that quality education will provide an important tool that will upgrade the lives of the next generations, which will ultimately cause the community there to grow and prosper. Take time to look at the pictures below of some of the children whose futures have a real chance to be better because of you and how the school’s development is having a huge impact on the community.

They are focused on helping “new neighbors” adjust to life in the U.S. Our aim is not to replicate services, but we would like to explore ways in which we can support work that is being spearheaded by others like us. This provides us with other wonderful opportunities that align with our objectives. For example, we had a gift card that could be used locally. We decided, in January, to use this card to purchase soup and donate it to the Girl in Lansing project. A T.F. South high school student established some streetside pantries a few years ago throughout the area. People are invited either to leave off non-perishable goods or to take what they may need to feed themselves and their families at no cost. We were able to donate our soup purchases to support this effort to feed those in need who live right here in our community. (See page 9 below.) Efforts such as these underscore our willingness to assist those who need our support whether they live far away or close by.

Updates

March 2026

One and All:

Now that spring has sprung, work continues in Haiti. We remain in the business of building a school of “blocks not sticks.” Father Etienne is supervising the labor necessary to build a structure that will last.

Please note the progress that is being made on erecting strong, block walls that you can see in the photos below. A lot more needs to be done. We need donations to provide them with metal rafters, steel roofing materials, windows, doors, and the like.

We are also sending two videos under a separate cover. In the first one, where the men are at work, you might be able to compare what they are building versus what they have. In the second one, you get a walking tour of the progress that has been made to date.

Have we done a lot? Yes! Is our work completed? Unfortunately, no. However, with our help, one day in the not-too-distant future, they will have a facility that will be a critical base for the community that will allow children to have a full twelve years of education that can prepare them for college. Once that happens, it is likely that their fortunes will be far better for themselves and future generations. And, this would be all due to your generosity.

Therefore, please consider making a donation to our Outreach Action Network so that we can continue to fund the efforts there. All donations are tax deductible. You may find it helpful to visit our website www.outreachactionnetwork.org to see for yourself what your donations are accomplishing.

Thank you so much for all that you do. In closing, let us remember the words of St. Paul in his letter to the Galatians, sixth chapter, verses nine and ten.

“Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time
we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.
So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all,
but especially to those who belong to the family of the faith.”
